The Purple Folder- Classroom Management Strategy

Many students need a break throughout the school day. Whether its a stretch between lessons/assignments or a pick-me-up after lunch, sometimes a student just needs to move around and refresh their mind. In comes the purple folder technique. If a student needs a break, just simply ask them to take the purple folder to another teacher. That teacher will automatically know that this is a signal the student needs a break. The teacher the student passes off the folder to can then pass it on to another teacher who is a part of the purple folder circle of teachers and it will continue around the circle of teachers. This obviously requires the circle of teachers to be knowing participants, but can be very successful as long as they are.

Note: The folder can be any color and this can be used for a range of grades.
